AFC Leopards super run too good for Sofapaka

AFC Leopards climbed up to second in the Kenya Premier League table following a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Sofapaka on Sunday. Cassa Mbungo’s side is now unbeaten in six league outings since losing the first match of the season to Kakamega Homeboyz.

Leopards took an early lead with a brilliantly taken goal by former ulinzi stars forward John Mark Makwatta .The striker showed great skills to control the ball and finish on the half turn.

Makwatta was at it again just 17 minutes later, this time converting with a close-range finish from a low cross from the right. Sofapaka never gave up and pressed on and were rewarded with a consolation goal in the dying minutes of the match through Ronald Okoth.

The win leaves Leopards second on the table with 14 points, one behind leaders and arch rivals Gor Mahia while Sofapaka sits 12th with 7 points.
