Barcelona fans want Jürgen Klopp! As 80 per cent want Valverde out

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo conducted a survey at the Nou Camp. The poll asked if Ernesto Valverde should continue as manager next season as his contract runs out at the end of this season with an option to extend.

The survey of club members by Mundo Deportivo outside the Nou Camp saw 80 per cent (240 individuals) revealing they want Valverde to leave when his contract ends.

It also asked who they would like to replace the Spaniard – with Klopp coming out at 33.6 per cent (82) of the vote, closely followed at 31.96 per cent (78) by Barca legend Ronald Koeman.

Behind them, 17 per cent opted for Belgium coach Roberto Martinez, and six per cent were calling for the return of Pep Guardiola.

Liverpool are romping to the Premier League title and Barca fans are impressed as they built a ten point lead over second place Leicester and remaining ruthlessly unbeaten.

Dutch coach Koeman might be the most likely successor – after the former Everton boss revealed there is a clause in his Holland contract that allows him to leave if he is offered the Nou Camp hot-seat.

It would be a triumphant return, after winning the Champions League and four Spanish titles on the pitch for Barca.

The former free-kick master moved into the dugout as assistant for two seasons after he retired – before jobs with Ajax, Benfica and Southampton as number one.
