Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is delaying signing a new deal as he is seeking assurances over the future of the club, a report claims. United officials worry of the England star who has just one year remaining on his current United contract and while the club is ready to reward him with a new £300,00-a-week deal until 2024.
Rashford effectively has two years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, but the England international is yet to agree terms over a lucrative fresh deal.
Spanish champions look on Rashford as a permanent replacement for Uruguayan L. Suarez, and are ready to table £100m asking price for the 21-year-old.
Now, a report from The Sun claims that Rashford wants to ‘assess United’s intent’ before making a decision on whether to pen a new deal. Having amassed 13 goals and nine assists for his club during the 2018-19 campaign he is undoubtedly a big part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future plans, but he did seemingly hit out on social media about the season the club had.
“Next season we need to get back to how Manchester United plays, for me that’s most important,” he said. “We need to find that willingness and respond the right way.”
Manchester United star Rashford has been tipped to leave the club this summer, with reports suggesting the England international is unhappy at Old Trafford. On Saturday, reports emerged claiming the 21-year-old was stalling on a new contract with the club. United are determined to tie Rashford down at a time where he is in demand, with Barcelona understood to be admirers.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge fan of the youngster and made him his No 1 striker this season. Rashford, though, reportedly doubts whether the 46-year-old is the right man for the job.
However, United are said to be concerned about Rashford but not because of his transfer talk. Red Devils insiders believe the forward has stopped running at defences. When Rashford burst onto the scene, he was an exciting star who was always determined to beat his man. However, he appears short of confidence and that, it seems, is concerning the club more. United will not sell Rashford this summer
