Everton Football Club will travel to the capital of Kenya, Nairobi, to take on Kariobangi Sharks FC in the first 2019 pre-season friendly announced by the Club courtesy of sportpesa.
The game will take place on Sunday 7 July at the Kasarani Stadium, Nairobi.
Kariobangi Sharks FC are the winners of this year’s SportPesa Cup edition which took place in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, in January 2019. It was an all Kenyan teams encounter in the finals where Sharks 1-0 win over the Coast based club Bandari FC gave them regional supremacy and the opportunity to play the English club.
Everton’s previous visit to east Africa was in Tanzania, where they played Kenyan Champions Gor mahia. The Toffees won 2-1 with former England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney getting on the scoresheet.
Everton has been in top form beating former football giants, Manchester united, Arsenal among other big teams.
Former Arsenal star, Theo Walcott is among the star player who plays for Everton.
